Diabetic Reviews
We will invite you into the practice to complete blood tests, blood pressure and foot pulse checks with our health care assistant team in the month of your birth. You will also have a follow up diabetic review with a member of our clinical team. It is important that your health is checked regularly as this can help improve how you manage your diabetes and prevent more serious complications.
Hypertension and other Long Term Conditions
We will invite you to complete blood tests and a health check for a number of long term or life-long conditions including hypertension, stroke, heart disease, kidney disease, dementia care, and rheumatoid arthritis in the month of your birth. It is important that you are seen regularly. If you have missed an invitation please book an appointment.
Minor Surgery
The practice operates a minor surgery clinic for patients. You will need to be assessed and referred by your GP as some procedures are not covered by the NHS or may be unsuitable at the practice.
Care Navigators Social Prescribing
Social Prescribing recognises that some of life’s problems can make you unwell and health conditions harder to deal with. Social Prescribing offers options to link patients with local support sources to improve your health and wellbeing.
The Social Prescriber works with patients to identify the issues, difficulties and challenges they face and explore what is important to them. This includes a wide range of options, e.g. advice and information on; housing, finance, benefits support, education and learning, healthy lifestyle, social activities and mentoring.
Healthy Minds

Physiotherapy
If you have musculo-skeletal pain, a GP appointment is NOT required to request for a Physiotherapist appointment. The practice has its own Physiotherapist who works Monday and Wednesday - if you wish to book into this clinic please telephone the practice.
Patients can also self-refer to the local Physiotherapy team.

Diagnostic Ultrasound
We operate an ultrasound clinic on a Thursday with referral from your doctor.
Cervical Screening for women from the age of 25
From the age of 25 to 49, you will be offered a cervical smear every three years. From the age of 50 to 64, you will be recalled every five years. Invitations are sent from PCSE (Primary Care Support England) and the smear is taken by one of our Practice Nurses.
We also send out text invitations if you are overdue your screening. When you receive your invite please telephone the practice and we will book a 20 minute appointment with a Practice Nurse.
Midwife Clinics
Are no longer held at the practice. THe practice will book you a routine appointment with your usual doctor and refer you to the Midwife team.
Child Health Surveillance
The Health Visitors offer Droitwich Baby and Child Health Clinics at two locations.
Wednesday at WANDS, Farmers Way, Droitwich, WR9 9BF from 09.30 to 11.30. Friday at Droitwich Medical Centre, Ombersley Street East, WR9 8RD from 10.00 to 11.30am on the first floor.
Contraceptive Checks
The contraception service is for all ages, confidential, and includes emergency contraception, IUCD fitting, and IUCD removal. We are unable to offer a service for contraceptive implants.
There is a Sexual Health clinic in Droitwich Medical Centre. It is an appointment only service and appointments will be available every Tuesday morning between 09:15 -11:30 and will only be able to be booked the day before. To make an appointment pts will need to ring 01562 514512 on Mondays between 15:30-17:00
Contraception Implants (Nexplanon)
The practice is pleased to be able to offer patients the ablity to have the contraceptive implant at Spa Medical Practice inserted and also removed. Please telephone the practice and the Admin Team will pass your infomation to the Nursing Team.
Urine Samples
If you feel you have a UTI and are female aged between 18 and 65 an appointment is not needed, please bring in a urine sample for testing before Midday. It can be tested in practice after paperwork has been completed. If you are a child , pregnant, over the age of 65 or a man then an appointment is needed.
