GDPR REGULATIONS – In accordance with the new General Data Protection Regulations which come into force on Friday 25th May 2018 we are pleased to provide our patients with a copy of the practice’s Privacy Notice for Patients.
More information about GDPR and how this affects the information we hold can also be found in the attached GDPR leaflet for patients. A paper copy can also be obtained from our practice reception desk.
Please note as of March 2019 the practice cannot accept the reason for booking any appointment, telephone consultation or home visit as/or along the lines of 'personal, private or the doctor knows'. This is a decision that has been made by the partners at the Spa Medical Practice and is promoted on our telephone system message by Dr Kinsman. Please be reassured all practice staff are bound by strict confidentiality guidelines and this has decision has been implemented by the partners to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care. lIf you are a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.

New Telephone Options
The practice is has changed its telephone system
The options are now
Press 1 for Immediate medical attention
Press 2 for Home Visits
Press 3 for Appointments - the automated booking system is also available for booking, cancelling and checking appointments 24 hours a day.
Press 4 for Prescription queries and test results. This option is not for ordering medication we do not accept requests via the telephone or by fax.

Please note, the practice does not utilise, promote, engage with, or otherwise have any dealings with Pharmacy 2 U, and, furthermore has not given, nor has been asked, for consent for the practice name to appear on any advertising material.
Dr Anthony Kelly retirement from the Partnership
Anthony was a partner with the practice for 39 years and in that time has paid a large part in shaping the healthcare services for Droitwich. He has now retired from the partnership but continues to see patients a couple of times a week. Anthony has been Chair of the South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group Governing Body since their formation in 2013 and is also the West Midlands Representative on the Board of NHS Clinical Commissioners.
We are proud to launch our Neighbourhood Social Prescriber Service in Droitwich & Ombersley
On side are delighted to be working in partnership with Spa Medical Practice to deliver the exciting new Neighbourhood Social Prescribing service.
Social Prescribing recognises that many of life’s problems can make you unwell or make health conditions harder to deal with. Medical interventions and treatment may only be part of the solution.
Social Prescribing can provide other options by linking patients with sources of support within the community to improve their health and wellbeing.
The Social Prescriber will work with patients to explore what is important to them and what are the issues, difficulties and challenges they face. They can then support the patient to access services and activities in their local community.
This can include a wide range of options, for example, advice and information on housing, finance and benefits support in to education and learning, healthy lifestyle advice and social activities and mentoring.
Patients can speak to their GP or another member of the practice team to get a referral to the Neighbourhood Social Prescriber

Free WIFI Access
We are pleased to announce that all Spa Medical Practice patients now have the ability to access our FREE WIFI whilst waiting for their appointment in our patient waiting room. (March 2018)
More Nurse appointments made available for our patients
To improve how accessible we are to our patients we regularly review our appointment availability.
As a result we have now made available each month ADDITIONAL EVENING and SATURDAY MORNING appointments with our Practice Nurses making us more accessible to our working patients.
Appointments for blood tests and NHS Healthchecks continue to be available every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. (February 2018)

Droitwich patients can directly self-refer to the local Physiotherapy Team for help with their musculo-skeletal condition. Here is a information leaflet Self refer to physio leaflet

Improved Appointment Availability
We are pleased to announce improved appointment availability for our working patients. We recognise it can be difficult for patients with work commitments to get into surgery during normal opening hours. To help with this the Droitwich GP practices offer Saturday morning appointments from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.
These appointments can be with a Doctor or with a Healthcare Assistant for your blood tests or NHS Health checks.
Please ask if you would like to book in for one of these appointments.
This service is provided with the support of the government’s NHS GP Access Fund, working in conjunction with SW Healthcare Ltd.
